The reason the Church opposes artificial contraception is because it violates God's commandments of charity and chastity as Christ taught. Everything Christ taught is for man's good. Contraception is wrong and, if practiced, takes the fun out of life. A contraceptive society brings about only misery for people who use contraceptives regardless of whether they are Christians or secularists, or whether their particular religious denomination permits this practice. They would be better off not using contraceptives. Therefore, our civil law system should include reasonable restrictions on the sale, distribution and use of contraceptives, while balancing individual freedom protecting everyone's right to privacy.
America was founded as a Christian society and remains so today. Protestant or Catholic pastors who advocate contraception are just plain wrong and are misleading their flocks.
Contraception was imposed on America from above by a minority of radical secularists who control the mass media for their own profit. This is one of the downsides of capitalism. Rather than repeating this mantra, patriotic civic leaders, news commentators and media pundits should be standing up for what is best for America by opposing contraception. This means being counter-cultural. There are few on either side of the political spectrum willing to stand up for the truth and do the right thing opposing contraception.
Contraception by artificial means is worthy of Nazi Germany, not America. If it is allowed to continue in America unabated, we are all finished.
