Some Misconceptions about Occupy Wall Street

http://www.westernperspective.blogspot.com/

The mere fact that some in America do not salute the capitalistic flag is not an indication that our country is headed toward a violent take-over like we saw in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia.

George Will's lame argument in support of Occupy Wall Street to increase support for Republican candidates in 2012 overlooks the fact that the occupiers themselves, in contrast with the community organizers and union thugs who orchestrate and set the agenda, feel that they have been screwed by both major political parties. With a 12% unemployment rate, and actual unemployment much higher due to people no longer looking for work, is it any wonder that some have figuratively taken to the streets?

In the early days of the Tea Party last year, many Establishment liberals wrote them off as just a small bunch of lunatics. The same thing is happening now with the Occupy Movement.

The occupiers have a longer view in mind than what was allowed them by Will. With the media publicity growing across the nation, it is clear that their demands for social justice, economic redistribution and tax reform are taking hold. Republican extremists such as Cain and Perry, who once had substantial leads in the opinion polls, are now slipping dramatically leaving the door wide open for Mitt Romney, a man with intelligence, foresight and a heart big enough to make unpopular decisions that actually benefit people. What the protesters are actually saying, to the chagrin of Establishment folks on both the Left and Right, is that they are not at all upset by Romney's state health care plan which he will not impose nationwide if elected President, and are angry about the overall contempt government has shown toward the American people over the last ten years during which George W. Bush and Barack Obama held the office of president, and which over a trillion dollars was stolen by corrupt individuals on Wall Street and within the government itself.

Historically, those leaders who show contempt for their own people often lose their political power and sometimes even their lives.
