The recent brouhaha involving Hank Williams Jr. and his comments
concerning a golf game call to mind the incongruity of liberalism.
Williams was simply using an analogy to explain his feelings about the
game in response to a question posed to him on Fox and Friends. His
answer was that the game was both stupid and bad from a political
perspective. To illustrate this, he said that it would be like
Netanyahu playing a round of golf with Hitler, obviously a game between
people on opposite extremes.
What if he had used the analogy of say Abraham Lincoln playing
tiddlywinks with Jefferson Davis, or of Jaques Chirac playing tennis
with Attila the Hun, or of Putin playing a game of chess with Napoleon?
Aside from these analogies going over the heads of some Americans
because of the dumbing down process in the American educational system
and the mainstream media, there would have been no outcry by
self-righteous media pundits. Williams' song was pulled from Monday
Night Football only because the analogy makes sense to most Americans.
He later hit the ball out of the park on Fox by jokingly calling our
highest government leaders the Three Stooges.
There is an over-sensitivity in America to any comparisons using as an
example the German Fürher by those who would rather ignore the problem
of America following in the footsteps of National Socialist fascism.
One pundit even went so far as to suggest that any American rational
political discussion invariably ends up with one or the other side
comparing the adversary's arguments with those of Hitler. If these
self-righteous fools don't like the comparison with Hitler, they should
stop acting like a bunch of Nazis.
