One of the most basic and fundamental of our rights inherited from the
European justice system is the attorney-client privilege which includes
the expectation of privacy guaranteed in our Constitution in all
conversations between defendants held in custody and their attorneys.
Was this sacred right violated by the State of Florida in trying to
build up their case against Casey Anthony?
Casey's bail bondsman Jose Padilla has stated yesterday on HLN that Ray
Kronk, the meter reader who allegedly found Caylee Anthony's body, was
informed of the location of the body by his alleged girlfriend who
happened to be employed with the Orange County Sheriff's Department and
allegedly "overheard" conversations between Casey and her attorney Jose
Baez while Casey was being held in custody by the Orange County Sheriff.
Does the state of Florida routinely violate the rights of prisoners to
confidentiality and privacy in communications with their attorneys? If
so, this is clearly illegal eavesdropping which should be investigated
by federal law enforcement immediately.
