Casey Anthony was presumed guilty by the media spokespersons from
the day of her first arrest on July 16, 2008 in Orange County, Florida.
Very soon, virtually everyone in the MSM was proclaiming her guilt,
even after she turned down a plea bargaining offer on September 8, 2008.
The problem in America's justice system runs deep. It stems from a
propensity of police, prosecutors and their media enablers, all of whom
are generally of the ignorant, mediocre, worldly type, and with the
exceptions of the attorneys tend to be overpaid and awarded too many
perks and pension benefits, to set themselves up as a ruling elite above
the society at large which they regard as a bunch of foolish peasants.
One possible scenario painted by defense counsel Jose Baez in opening
statement is that Casey was sexually abused by her father who was
himself in law enforcement, that Caylee was conceived through an
incestuous relationship between father and daughter, and that Casey
became a "party girl" as a defense mechanism against depression and
anxiety after the child was born. She may have then used chloroform
attempting to put Caylee to sleep in the back seat of her car, placing
duct tape over her mouth to prevent her from crying. She never intended
to kill Caylee, so there is absolutely no basis for a murder charge
against Casey. She should have been charged at most with negligent
homicide. Prosecutors arrogantly trumped up the charges because they
were furious that Casey admittedly lied to law enforcement in saying
that Caylee was abducted by a fictitious Mexican nanny.
This is one case in which jurors acted bravely against a barrage of
innuendo and misinformation, one more reminder that in America the
people, not the government together with its media henchmen, are in
charge.
