In the order of subsidiarity, world government exists to do things that
local, state and national governments cannot do themselves. It is
therefore based upon cooperation among nations rather than a tyrannical
diminution on sovereignty imposed from above.
World government is needed to prevent nations from going to war without
sufficient cause, and to bring to justice those who engage in war
unjustly as aggressors, and who partake in actions which are crimes
against humanity such as the deliberate killing of innocent human
beings, torture and genocide.
World government can also play an advisory role in finding global
solutions to problems which individual states are incapable of solving themselves, such as protecting trees and forests,
safeguarding the environment, and reducing pollution levels to deal with
climate change.
