The subject of intelligence has long been considered taboo in
setting the social agenda. This is because the people in power
generally are deficient in common sense, another word being
intelligence. Ironically, this smarts shortage is particularly in vogue
among the so-called
intelligentia. The mere suggestion that intelligence is a genetically inherited trait is considered off limits in liberal academic circles.
Humility is the ability to realistically ascertain one's own role in
life, and then to accept it doing whatever work is required without
complaint or grumbling. Human nature being what it is, there is often a
need for Divine assistance. Those with less intelligence should be
willing to take a lower place in the social order. The fact that this
is not the case, but rather that women and ethnic minorities demand
equal work and equal pay with white men who are more intelligent
than themselves, is evidence of a lack of humility, hence of its
opposite, pride. These women and minorities who are less intelligent
set themselves up as being an obstacle to the common good, and in so
doing, thwart their own human development which is interconnected with
and indivisible from the society. So they act self-destructively.
