One good effect of episcopal sanctions against politicians is that they
correct errors that are being foisted upon the unwary in society by
greedy unscrupulous fools. The politicians and their apologists try to
make it appear that the Church is too authoritarian and against
liberty. In truth, greed and other sins deprive man of his freedom.
Like the federal bailouts, the lies put forth by government have to be
so big and fantastic so as to sway the gullible masses.
It would be well to heed the advice of the bishops on matters of faith and morals affecting the affairs of state.
