Sarah Palin's announcement that she will be stepping down as Alaska
governor brings her back into the field as a serious presidential
contender, which had been previously jeopardized by her husband's
association with a secessionist group in the state.
Being on the
political speaking circuit and doing political ads will be far more
lucrative than her compensation for holding public office. These
opportunities will not last forever. In addition, she now has the
chance to buck the Republican establishment as Ronald Reagan was able
to do in 1980.
