President Obama should either turn down the invitation to speak at the spring commencement at Notre Dame University, or better yet, use the occasion to strengthen America by denouncing the Neo-Hitlerian experimentation on embryos and abortion which is decimating the African American population.
Obama, who is of partly Irish descent, should follow the example of
Abraham Lincoln who worked to reconcile the nation after the Civil War,
even against the wishes of extremists within his own Republican Party.
This is why Lincoln achieved grandeur as president.
During his
press conference earlier this week, Obama likened our nation to a big
ocean-liner that cannot be turned around instantaneously in mid-course.
Hopefully, Obama will use his appearance at the university as a time to
heal festering old wounds, and put America back onto the right course.
He will then win the overwhelming support of the working Republican
base, many of whom are Irish Catholics. This has nothing to do with
religion or the separation of church and state. Obama is descended from
an Irish shoemaker whose family happened to be Protestant and came to
America in the 1800's.
President Kennedy visited his ancestral
homeland in County Wexford, as did President Reagan in County
Tipperary. When President Obama visits County Offaly in Ireland, may he
be remembered as the president who stood up to the greedy special
interests within the anti-life lobby in America.
