The Limits of Wizardry

Three Wise Men Wizardry, financial or otherwise, has its limits.

The Magi who arrived in Bethlehem from the East over 2000 years ago correspond more or less to what we would call wizards or astrologers. Their ancient religion was based upon careful studying of the sky and how it changes over time. With modern day computer technology, we gain a fair idea of what they were looking at in the East and in Judea based upon what we know about the time frame for Christ's birth from historians of that day.

Their stargazing was relevant because it was a part of God's design from the beginning of time to bring the Gentiles or goiim to Christ so as to open redemption from sin to the whole world. Christ's coming was the fulfillment of ancient religion. Once they had presented their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the child, their old religion became somewhat superfluous and anachronistic.

Science and technology provide tools for mankind to bring about peace, health, and prosperity on earth. This will come about if we keep them in their proper perspective, always thanking God for the gifts he gives us. With this perspective in mind, there is a proper ordering of the things of this world and of the unseen spiritual world. Man will only learn to protect the environment when he first learns to make God the highest priority. Modern day wizardry can then serve God and man together.
