Proposition 8 Becomes Law--Time to Kick Idiots off Bench

It amazes me how arrogant media commentators become when they cannot admit that they are wrong.  In discussing the election results for Proposition 8 in California, two pundits who will remain anonymous made ridiculous statements.  The first commentator first misstated that the ballot measure had gone down in defeat, then corrected himself by saying that it was leading but not by as much of a margin as Proposition 22 in 2000.  However he neglected to mention that the California Supreme Court struck down Proposition 22 earlier this year which necessitated that voters vote to amend the State Constitution with Proposition 8.  Then the pundit goes on to say that this was a step backward for minority rights, presumably the so-called rights of homosexuals.  But he overlooks the fact that marriage involves goods which are only realizable in a committed relationship between two people of the opposite sex, in other words between one man and one woman.  Because judges and educators were blurring this line in California, it became necessary for the people of California to enact Proposition 22, and then to overturn the court's wrong opinion by enacting Proposition 8 into law.  Now there is no question that two people of the same sex do not have any so-called "right" to marry insofar as the goods of marriage can only be shared by two people of the opposite sex as this is itself the essence of what marriage is all about.

So here the second commentator lies that she is worried because, so she says, the wording of the Proposition is such that it takes away peoples' rights.  I suppose that she will plead ignorance of the fact that the proponents of Proposition 8 had to go to court to oppose the wording of the ballot explanation because the State Attorney General, former Governor Moonbeam, chose to word the introduction to the ballot measure or ballot label as something that "eliminates" a right, when in actuality, Proposition 8 does no such thing.  It restores rights of the people which precede government.  It was four idiot judges on the Supreme Court who tried unsucessfully to take away the rights of the people of California by destroying the unique character of marriage as between one man and one women.  Don't these people have anything better to do?

To quote the Proposition in full:

LIMIT ON MARRIAGE. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT. Amends the California Constitution to provide that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California. Summary of estimate by Legislative Analyst and Director of Finance of fiscal impact on state and local government: The measure would have no fiscal effect on state or local governments. This is because there would be no change to the manner in which marriages are currently recognized by the state.

This initiative measure is submitted to the people in accordance with the provisions of Article II, Section 8, if the california Constitution.
This initiative measure expressly amends the California Constitution by adding a section thereto; therefore, new provisions proposed to be added are printed in italic type to indicate that they are new.
     SECTION 1.  Title
This measure shall be known and may be cited as the "California Marriage Protection Act."
SECTION 2.  Section 7.5 is added to Article I of the California Constitution, to read:
Sec. 7.5  Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

That is it.  No more and no less.  Literally hundreds of such amendments have been made over the years to the state Constitution, many having the effect of overturning court decisions.

The California Supreme Court refused to stay their prior order invalidating Proposition 22 passed by the voters, and as a result thousands of invalid marriage licenses have been issued by the state to same-sex couples, a cruel fraud and hoax which puts the licensees in a state of limbo.  Furthermore, the cost of Proposition 8 to overturn the Court's stupid and unjust decision ranges in millions of dollars including legal fees.

Therefore, it is time for the people to act to recall the four judges who wrongly voted to overturn Proposition 22 which was enacted into law by popular vote of the people of California.
